Dr. Kirk Honda

Kirk Honda, PsyD, LMFT (he/him) is the primary host of the Psychology In Seattle Podcast.

Dr. Kirk Honda has a Doctorate in Psychology, a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, and has been working as a therapist with individuals, couples, and families since 1996. He has been a university professor since 1998.

Humberto Castañeda

Humberto Castañeda (he/him) is the "layperson's" voice on the podcast. He loves, loves, loves podcasting. Psychology is terribly fascinating to him.

Bob Goettle

Bob (he/him) is an old friend of Kirk’s from graduate school.  He has worked in the field of mental health for his entire adult life.  He is a licensed counselor in his own practice in Seattle where he works with individuals and couples.  He also leads Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training groups at Maple Leaf DBT.  He has been with his wife Colleen for the last thirteen years, and though she is better looking than he is, he is at least taller.  You can learn more about him at his websites  www.bobgoettle.com and www.mapleleafdbt.com.

Rebecca Bloom

Rebecca (she/her) has a master’s degree in art therapy and creativity development and is a board certified art therapist and a Washington State licensed mental health counselor. Since 2001, she has provided counseling, training, and consulting services in the areas of youth and family services as well as adults struggling with addiction and mental health issues. For eight years, she taught in Antioch University Seattle's master’s Art Therapy program. Her latest book is Vicarious Trauma Illustrated.

 

Stacy Honda

Alena Honda

Alena Honda (they/them) reviews audio episodes, provides time stamps, and monitors online activity. Alena is currently training to be a therapist in the Couple and Family Therapy Program at Antioch University Seattle, just like their Uncle Kirk.
